I want…

Baker’s twine.

Bakers Twine - 30 Yards - Red and White

During the Summit of Awesome pink (?) elephant gift exchange, I snagged a discarded length of baker’s twine. The traditional red and white stuff is just so perfect I thought “Who would throw this away?” In fact, I have long admired this candy stripe string without knowing what it was called. Glad I learned about it today as I would love to add this to my jewelry packaging. And wouldn’t you know, it also comes in other color varieties! Yessssss!

And of course Martha. :)

Promises…

I have yet to write/post on many things, including my adventures in CRAFT WEEK DC. I will try try try to get to it some time in the not so distant future. Promise.

For now I am busy with the previously eluded to ‘projects’ and prepping for attending the Summit of Awesome. Yes, you read that right, Summit – of – Awesome. Well, we shall see how it goes. I’m just hoping to meet some cool people, learn some cool things and have a good time.  I think they should be able to manage that, don’t you?

Also, another sale at the jewelry shop today!

AND a jewelry show for you on Friday. I can’t go (awesomeness calls) but you should.

Work has it’s perks!

I was working diligently last night – packaging orders, writing thank yous, making jewelry and posting items to the vintage shop and what did I see on the etsy home page?

I know right?! The most perfect pair of vintage roller skates on the treasury (at like 11:30 pm). Oh if I had the ideal boyfriend he certainly would have snatched these up for me. Alas, I only had time to “favorite” them and not too much later they were SOLD to some LUCKY individual. Tis better to have loved and lost, than.. (you know the saying). Congrats to Talyn Vintage on making the treasury and making a fabulous sale!

… This afternoon I received another sale to the vintage shop. Yay for me!

First vintage sale on etsy, EVER!

So I awoke this morning to the greatest little gift in my inbox – my first ever vintage sale on etsy! Trudy, all the way from across the pond, emailed me yesterday to enquire about shipping to the UK. I sent her an estimate yesterday and while I was sleeping she made the purchase – a vintage CoCo Chanel planter. In her email she described it as “… so ace and weird!” Well, Trudy, I couldn’t agree more! Thanks for being the first Jsquared Vintage sale!

A little something for fall…

So the packaging for my second order ever(!) is a little different. Laura doesn’t really like gold but it was all I had so I tried to play it up with some green ribbon and leather cord. I also added a vintage gift tag for that extra special touch. She can use it on a Christmas gift later…. I hope you like it Laura!

I just love vintage paper goods. :-)

Which background do we like best? Hmmmm….

And another one….

Hmmm, how’s about this angle? Ok, that’s it… I think that’s enough pictures of just one package.

Another sale! Yipee!

So, I was having a bit of a crappy day. I’ve been sick all week fighting off some sort of sinusy yucky thing and I’ve been falling completely behind in my preparation for the craft show. Basically, I was feeling pretty low, both physically and mentally – and wondering where I was going to get the energy to push through the next week and a half before my big debut at the holiday bazaar on the 15th… Then, out of nowhere….

A NEW SALE ON ETSY!!!!

Just what I needed and just in the nick of time. A special thank you to my dear friend Laura who purchased two pairs of earrings that she’s had her eye on for some time now. I don’t think this feeling will ever get old, you know, the “I can’t believe someone just paid money for something I made” feeling. If you don’t know what I’m talking about you should try it some time. I’m convinced it’s even better than crushes (the boys are getting on my nerves lately but that’s for another post…).

Thank you also to everyone who has supported me through everything up until today. Thanks John for bringing me soup at work and being my personal DJ on the internet jukebox. Thanks to Mike, TIni and Uyen for their constant encouragement and support. Thanks to Laura for being such an inspiration because she follows her dreams. Thanks to Cat for making me laugh and smile and for making my workday ever so much more tolerable. Thank you world! Mwah!

Pictures of the packaging coming soon…!
