Sooooooo, the countdown begins, one more day (good gawd!) until Bored of Trade. I spent last night gushing over vintage goodies (some of mine, many of Lindsay’s), helping with setup and lining some of the 60 drawers of my library catalog with wallpaper.
Yup, that’s project #2. I purchased a library card catalog a few weeks ago and get this – it’s from the county where I went to public school. I guess it was fate. Well, eventually I intend to use it for storage in my home studio. That’s a larger project I’m working on which will hopefully include a jewelry bench, crafting supply storage, a photo area and an inspiration board or two. The goals are two fold. As things get busier with crafting, jewelry classes and vintage, the need for a more efficient workspace becomes greater. Also, I’d like to get my things out of the living room (foyer, dining room, kitchen, etc etc) so that the “living” space in my home is more, well, livable! … I digress… but seriously folks, this card catalog is AMAZING! Even if you’re not into vintage at all, or jewelry for that matter, please come to see my card catalog. I do love it so and you will too!
The last point I’m going to make in this post, is that Lindsay Hart (aka lindso, aka flowerhead vintage) is awesome. Read her blog (and leave comments). Buy her stuff. Tell her you love her. Give her a hug! If you see her out and about, buy this girl a drink, give her cookies and coffee. Because, she is so amazing, inspiring for people like me, and maybe you too?! Please let her know that what she is bringing to the DC community with Bored of Trade is extra special. It’s just the sort of thing this stogy town needs, like air and rain and all those other good things. Okay, stepping down from soap box now… but I may make a t-shirt in her honor very soon…. :)
