On a personal note…

My time with friends over the past few days (week?) has led to some interesting discussion mostly on the topics of love and happiness and relationships in general. I’m usually too busy to dwell on such things, a sign perhaps that I have too little on my plate at the moment (I can see you laughing already). So I thought it best to put some things down on the blog, hoping that this will encourage me to take a break from all the self-reflection and obsessive analysis of the state of my life… so here goes.

A few conclusions which I shall attempt to take comfort in are as follows:

  • I feel very lucky and fortunate to have such wonderful people in my life (both new friends and old ones).
  • I am also lucky to have found my path in life. I know myself well enough to know what I want to do and how I want to do it. Still working on those actual steps and learning a lot along the way.
  • I am strong and healthy and grateful for both.
  • I am optimistic about the future.
  • My mother loves me and always will.

So it’s not an exhaustive list, but to sum – I’m happy. On that note I’m just gonna relax and live for awhile and see where that takes me. The pressure is off, let’s enjoy summer…

Smiling on Thursday

Bryan Scary was amazing (even more than I expected) and I am officially exhausted. All that dancing and screaming and dressing up can really wear a girl out, ya know. So much in fact that I’m having an afternoon coffee to keep me running all the way through rehearsal tonight. Also, this song by Big Fresh has put a much appreciated smile on my face…

Your Wednesday night plans.

You thought you were free on Wednesday night…? Well, you’re wrong cuz you’re going to see Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears at RnR. I know, you forgot, but it’s ok, I won’t tell Bryan. It’ll be our little secret. Just make sure you come in costume, otherwise he’ll know….

Here’s some photos from the last time I saw them live. Roger was such a doll, indulging me by lugging his photo equipment around all day just so I could have lovely pictures of my favortie band. Roger, my apologies for not posting them earlier. They are fantastic. Have you made friends with the band yet…? Hmmm, we’ll have to work on that.

Happy July 4th Weekend!

I’m not travelling for the holiday. I’m working, cuz that’s what I do. I am, however, very excited to be off the hook for the 9-5 today. I saw Lindso this morning for a brief chat. OMG it was so beautiful this morning, don’t you think?! Then a paleo pancake breakfast with bananas. Sooooooo yummy! Then training and guess what?!

I GOT MY FIRST PULL UP TODAY!!!!

Pats on the back for me. Seriously guys, this is a HUGE deal. Now I’m off to celebrate Megan’s 25th birthday at my favorite restaurant in DC. This day just couldn’t get any better!!!! Wow, I’m in a really good mood. Let’s hope it sticks around for the whole weekend. Wahooo! (ok now that was overkill…)
